From the My Monthly Cigar Website:

WHO IS THIS CLUB FOR?

Simple answer: EVERYONE

This club is perfect for everyone from the newbie cigar smoker all the way up to the connoisseur.  The cigars chosen for each monthly box will help newcomers to determine what they like, the novice/experienced smoker to expand their palate, and expose the "expert" to cigars they may have never had before!

It's truly a "one size fits all" cigar club!

If interested in the Altadis - Boutique Blends - La Boheme, you can pick it up, as with many other great cigars, or just go with the incredible monthly subscription boxes at My Monthly Cigars! Great box with a guaranteed savings over the retail cost each month!

The Altadis - Boutique Blends - La Boheme is a Medium to Full Strength Dominican cigar blended with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with a Dominican binder and fillers. I smoked the 5.7 X 54 Poeta (Toro) that dons a nice solid triple cap. I used the Xikar XO Cutter for a great draw.

The cold draw was straight up milk chocolate! Nice creamy flavor at pre-light!

The construction was top notch, with a nice texture and a beautiful reddish brown wrapper. Nice even light that held a razor sharp burn line all the way through. Solid ash that only fell midway through the second third.

Into the first third, the flavor notes started off with a sour bitterness - very tangy - with walnut, and a bit of earth and spice on the palate and retrohale. Didn’t care for the sour notes, but will get to that shortly.

Second third brought in some creamy light leather with some tanginess still present. Mild baking spices and red pepper left on the palate and through the retrohale.

In the #finalthird there was an uptick of baking spices, and the tangy note ramped up in the beginning of this third but subsided toward the end. Faint red pepper left on the palate and retrohale.

The tanginess to me tasted like some very young tobacco still in the aging process. May have mellowed out with some time in the humidor.

Throughout this cigar the construction was perfect with solid ash and no burn touch ups at all.

The La Boheme was an interesting cigar that had me scratching my head trying to figure out what I was tasting. Overall a good experience! Remember, tastes are subjective, so if you want to try this one out to see what I am saying, check it out at My Monthly Cigars for yourself

In the end, I gave the Altadis - Boutique Blends - La Boheme a Final Third Cigar rating of 86.5. Not my favorite flavor profile, but construction was fantastic, smoking characteristics were good, and flavor complexity was interesting.
