The 1502 Aniversario 10 cigar comes to us by Global Premium Cigars. Enrique Sanchez blended this exquisite cigar for 1502’s 10th Anniversary and has trusted AJ Fernandez factory to roll this cigar for their brand.

The 1502 Aniversario 10 is a medium to full body and strength Nicaraguan cigar blended with an Ecuador Habano wrapper, Mexico San Andreas binder, and Nicaragua fillers. It comes in a 6 X 50 Toro and dons a solid triple cap.

Upon inspection of this cigar, the construction is top-notch! The wrapper had a few waves but I was nitpicking a bit. The texture of the cigar was perfect with no hard spots but not too soft.

I used my Colibri Deep V Cutter on this cigar which opened up to a perfect draw.

The cold draw has notes of cocoa and hay. It does have a partially closed foot, so upon light-up, a nice pop of flavor from that bit of extra wrapper was a great spicy punch to start this smoking experience.

Right from the very first puff, a strong toasted rye spice is present. As I got into the first third, additional notes of cocoa, leather, and nut came to life, with a very subtle mint present on the palate. Retrohale is strong black pepper and baking spices in this first third. Awesome start!

The second third mellows out a bit on the spice level on the retrohale, and the flavor transitions nicely with a buttered rye toast note that was very apparent. Light leather, nut, and creaminess become the dominant notes with that toast!

Getting into the Final Third, the light mint returns to the palate with even more transitions of flavor notes. Toasted wheat, pecan, cedar, leather, and hay dance on the palate, and the black pepper ticks up again through the retrohale.

This is a wonderful smoking experience all around. Mostly perfect burn line with a small touch-up in the second third, tons of billowing smoke, and the ash held on in very large chunks.

I kept trying to find any flaws in this cigar, and the ones I found were so minor that it had absolutely no effect on the smoking experience of this cigar. A solid 80-minute smoke for me on this one!

I gave the 1502 Aniversario 10 a Final Third Cigar rating of 96! This is a cigar that is in my running for cigar of the year for 2022 for sure! Plenty of stock and more to come at Final Third Cigar & Whiskey Lounge! Come in and smoke one with us!
