From the Hennessy website:
Ó hAonghusa is Gaelic for Hennessy and when translated means “descendant of Angus”. Coming to America in the 1860’s Timothy, son of Nancy Murphy Hennessy and John Hennessy settled in Clearfield, Pennsylvania and the family began a new chapter in America. What he brought with him was a dedication to faith, family, and pure understanding of refined culture from bloodlines that are traced back to King Laeghaire Lorc who ruled Ireland in 593 A.D.
HCC cigars are created with hard work and an appreciation of the finer things in life. When choosing what cigars you smoke, we know you have many choices, When only the best will do there is only one choice - HCC cigars.
HCC cigars are boutique cigars and are made in limited quantities. Each cigar is hand rolled and packaged on demand, so your cigars will show up freshly rolled. For this reason, please be patient as perfection takes time. Your box of cigars will include the date they were rolled and packed and then signed by the Torcedor who rolled your order.

The Hennessy Connecticut is a mild USA made cigar utilizing a Connecticut Shade wrapper, Indonesian binder, and fillers from Honduras and the Dominican Republic. I am smoking the 6 X 52 Toro for this review that dons a nice solid triple cap.
This cigar has nice construction with good texture and a light tan wrapper.
Upon cut, the cold draw is creamy tobacco, similar to many Connecticut Shade cigars.
Getting into the flavor notes, the first third has hints of oak, cashew, earth, and hay with a very faint pepper lingering on the tongue.
The second third transitions a bit with notes of earth and wood, with the addition of a light citrus zest. Pepper lingers on the tongue and retrohale.
The final third has light nut, earth and oak, with a faint pepper lingering on the tongue and retrohale.
Mild cigars are not usually ones I seek out often, but this is a very good cigar.
This cigar put out fantastic thick smoke and had a perfect draw. Ash tapped off in thirds. Perfect smoking characteristics all around.
I enjoyed this cigar for a mild smoke. Definitely not in my normal wheelhouse, but if you enjoy a mild cigar and the flavors listed above this could be a go to for you! I’d imagine this would go very well with the morning coffee!
In the end I gave the Hennessy Connecticut a Final Third Cigar rating of 88, which is one of the higher rated mild cigars I have reviewed. Again, tastes are subjective, and if mild cigars are in your wheelhouse this could easily jump into the 90’s for you!
I will be reviewing the Medium body Hennessy next, which leads me to believe it will be more in my wheelhouse, and thus, the rating should reflect that becuase what they are doing is very good!
