From the website:
“It’s Time To See Human Trafficking Go Up In Smoke…By the time you have finished smoking a robusto, approximately 68 people were sold or kidnapped and forced into trafficking somewhere in the world. Chaffiot Collection advocates to abolish modern day slavery. A portion of all proceeds are donated to fund the mission.”

The Original Connecticut by Chaffiot Collection is a Mild Nicaraguan made cigar blended with an Ecuadorian wrapper, Sumatran binder, and Nicaraguan fillers. I smoked the 6 X 60 Gordo, that featured a nice double cap in which I used my Colibri Deep V Cutter.
Construction was nice with a great texture, beautiful and chocolatey wrapper and almost invisible seam lines.
Cold draw was a nice creamy tobacco with a good draw resistance.
Upon light-up, I had a very minor uneven burn line to start, but it quickly corrected itself to a razor sharp burn line the rest of the way through. Smoke output was good with thick billowing smoke!
Retrohale was creamy smooth with only a hint of white pepper in the final third. Ash fell off in large chunks.
First third started off with creamy vanilla and a mild nut. Smooth finish and smooth retrohale.
Second third continued with the vanilla note with an introduction of caramel left on the palette. Creamy smooth.
#FinalThird introduced pecan to the mix with a toasted caramel note and a faint hint of white pepper on the retrohale.
I am typically not a CT guy, but the Original Connecticut by Chaffiot Collection kept me engaged and enjoying the flavor transitions very much. I gave this cigar a Final Third Cigar rating of 89. Very minor deductions otherwise this could have easily been a 90+ rated CT, which says something for a guy who doesn’t usually lean toward them.
With that said, this will be one of those cigars I will reach for, especially for morning smokes or for a newer cigar smoker that can get a great cigar experience without the strength!
I have a couple more blends to review, but Chaffiot Collection cigars are off to a great start! And with them giving portion of their profits to end Human Trafficking, this is a brand I am excited to see succeed!
