From the 1502 website:
“I have always strived for perfection in my life. Perfection cannot always be rushed. The 1502 XO achieves the perfect balance of flavor and strength, attained, in large part, by the use of well aged, rare 18 year old tobacco. Let the 1502 XO, our masterpiece, help you relax and enjoy the wonders of what life has to offer.”
Enrique Sanchez Icaza - CEO of Global Premium Cigars/ 1502 Cigars

The 1502 XO is a Mild to Medium Strength and a Medium to Full Body cigar blended and manufactured in Nicaragua at the Plasencia Factory in Esteli. This cigar blend is undisclosed, with the only information available being the 18 Year Aged Tobacco used for this exquisite blend.
I am smoking the 5 X 52 Box-Pressed Robusto Gorda for this review.
Construction was perfect with a beautiful satin medium brown wrapper and a solid triple cap perfect for any cut. I barely clipped off the end of the cap with a straight cut and the draw was perfect.
The aroma on the foot is a nice sweet and creamy milk chocolate. The cold draw is floral and cocoa.
The XO has a closed foot, so upon light up, you get a burst of great flavor from that bit of extra wrapper covering the foot.
Getting into the flavor notes, the first third offers notes of chocolate, nut, cedar, toasted marshmallow, graham (think s’mores) with light red pepper on the tongue and through the retrohale.
The second third continues to impress with notes of cedar, chocolate, cinnamon spice, apricot, and graham, with red pepper dancing on the tongue and prominent through the retrohale.
The final third keeps popping with notes of toasted cedar, sweet chocolate, graham, and toast, with red pepper on the long finish and through the retrohale.
The XO has incredible complexity with great transitions throughout.
Solid grey ash held as long as you want to play that game!
For a Robusto Gorda, this cigar burned slowly and gave me a 2 hour and 10-minute flavor experience!
In the end, I found no flaws in this cigar at all! Perfect construction, perfect smoking characteristics, and incredible flavor complexity. I gave the 1502 Cigars XO a Final Third Cigar rating of 100! This is the first perfect rating I have ever given to a cigar, and it deserves it! It is a pricier cigar at around the $20 mark, but it is oh so worth it! If you haven't yet, you owe yourself!
1502 Cigars motto is simple, Relax and Enjoy, and this cigar epitomizes that motto completely!
