The Room 101 Death Bucket 2 is a Medium plus cigar utilizing an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with binder and fillers from Indonesia and Nicaragua. This limited release is a 6 X 50 Toro donning a triple cap perfect for the Colibri Deep V cut.
Upon cut the cold draw has notes of hay and cocoa. The cigar has an even light up with perfect draw resistance, smoke output, great burn line, and ash fell in large chunks. Smoking characteristics scored a perfect rating!
Getting into the flavors, the first third has notes of a creamy mild leather, hint of lemon zest, oak, with light pepper lingering on the palate and stronger on the retrohale.
Second third has leather, light citrus zest, charred wood and the same pepper note lingering on the tongue and through the retrohale.
Final Third develops with the same leather and notes of charred cedar, peppercorn, orange zest, with black pepper on the palate and retrohale.
The Death Bucket 2 was not overly complex, but the notes it does have were nice and transitioned a bit as they formed.
Perfect smoking characteristics led to a very nice experience as I smoked this one! Nice construction made this a very enjoyable smoke.
Although this cigar may not hit every palate as a home run with the flavor notes, the perfect smoking characteristics made this cigar very enjoyable for me and knowing this is a rare cigar made me glad I was able to snag some before they are all gone.
In the end I gave the Room 101 Death Bucket 2 a Final Third Cigar rating of 89. A great cigar that smoked perfectly and kept me interested down through the final third. This could easily rate in the 90’s with a little more flavor complexity, but one I am glad I was able to smoke and enjoy.
