I’ve been smoking cigars for a while. Recently, I’ve been writing reviews and sharing my experience with cigars and cigar brands along with products to be used alongside cigar smoking. When Holly at Whiff Industries reached out to see if I would be willing to offer an honest review of their products it sounded like a great opportunity to review their products and decide if Whiff Industries Products hold up to their claims.

I love the fact that Whiff is reaching out to the cigar community for their products and not just marketing to corporate entities to mass-market their products. Although, they do offer more industrial applications such as dumpster and carpet deodorizers - I plan on trying the carpet deodorizer soon as well - this review is designed for the cigar smoker.

I received the Whiff Out Classic Scent Spray Deodorizer, and three of their Whiff Out Ashtray Deodorizers in scents of Rustic, Vintage and Classic.

I started out by testing the Classic Scent Deodorizer Powder in my Stinky Ashtray, just barely lining the bottom of the ashtray with the powder. It is a pleasant fresh scent, and immediately took any lingering smell of old ash away! And furthermore, as I have smoked dozens of cigars using that ashtray since, the powder absorbs all the smell and keeps it smelling fresh!

Now, this product is not just simply sand with a scent. The Whiff Out Deodorizer Powder is an all-natural, non-water-soluble crystalline deodorizer that will eliminate all odors in its proximity. What’s really nice also is that at the end of the day, if you are like me, I empty the accumulated ash for a new start the next day and bring the ashtray inside. Before I would wash out the ashtray after a couple of days of heavy use due to the smell. But with the Whiff Out Powder, a small amount of the powder clings to the bottom of the ashtray and is there for the next day and keeps on working. I usually only add a small amount of powder every few days, and it does the job very well! Claims are proven as to the effectiveness of this powder as used in the everyday ashtray and smoking 4-5 (sometimes more) cigars a day!

I decide to try next the Whiff Out Deodorizer Spray indoors on some pet odors in our upstairs carpet. We have a dog that is very frightened of thunderstorms and fireworks, and when she is scared she runs up to the hall upstairs and, well, does her business. We’ve tried so many products to try and eliminate the odors because she goes back to the same spot due to those odors. I sprayed the Spray Deodorizer down that hallway onto the carpet and the smell was immediately lessened by a great amount! More than any other product we tried. We will be cleaning carpets soon and plan on spraying this deodorizer on the carpet to hopefully eliminate those scents for good!

I then proceeded to the ultimate test in my book - car odors! I typically don’t smoke in my car because of the incredible odor left after smoking just one cigar, and the amount of time it can take to eliminate and dissipate those odors after smoking in the car. I have a stinky car ashtray that is great for car cigar smoking, closing it up after smoking to trap the ash smell until you stop and empty. I added a small amount of the Whiff Out Rustic Deodorizer powder to the bottom of the ashtray and sprayed the Whiff Out Spray Deodorizer onto the carpet and cloth interior of the car. I then lit up and smoked a Toro sized Cigar and drove around with the windows just slightly down to take out some of the smoke that was billowing. I ashed the cigar into the ashtray and kept it open while I smoked and drove to a couple of appointments. After about 2 hours I was done and went home.

When I stopped and got out of the car - I could smell the smoke in the car and was worried it wasn’t going to work in that tight of environment. I emptied the ash, which didn’t have the ash smell, and replaced it in the car with the ashtray open and a bit of the Whiff Out in the bottom. Closed up the car and left it for the rest of the day. Got back in a few hours later and the smell was almost gone! But since I had been smoking all day, the real test would come the next day when my wife was planning on driving my car to work about 45 minutes away. She will smoke a cigar occasionally with me, but does not like, or really can’t stand, the smell of cigar smoke and ash in a closed space like my car. So I didn’t even tell her about it to see what her reaction would be.

The next day she was gone when I came downstairs to start my workday, so I decided to wait to see if she would notice and say anything. When she got home - nothing! I then told her about smoking in the car the day prior and she couldn’t believe it. She didn’t smell anything! I went out to the car and the ashtray was still open and the only thing I smelled was the fresh Rustic scent of the deodorizer…it actually worked as described! Another claim proven true!

This stuff is great! I am planning a 4-5 hour drive in a couple of weeks and cigar smoking will be in the plans as I drive! That will be an extreme test and I will report back at that time for a follow-up to this review!

This is a really nice product that will keep your ashtrays smelling nice and will help in tight quarters as well! I can imagine in a cigar lounge with good ventilation using this product. It would take out most of the lingering odors left in ashtrays and cloth and leave a fresh clean smell. Great job Whiff Industries in creating a natural product that does what it claims to do - deodorizes the smell of ash and cigar smoke like no other product I have tried to date!
