The BBQ Pig is an LCA Exclusive cigar blended in the Dominican Republic by Quesada Cigars. This Medium Plus to Medium Body and Strength cigar comes in the 4 X 60 Pig with an undisclosed tobacco blend making this a truly unique and mysterious cigar!

The BBQ Pig has perfect construction with near-perfect smoking characteristics. Perfect draw and burn line, and nice smoke output make this a joy to smoke. Even though the 60 ring gauge is not in my wheelhouse I was still able to enjoy this cigar with the tapered head. I used the Colibri Deep V Cutter for a nice deep cut!

The cold draw has notes of hay and malted milk balls with a lingering spice on the palate.

Getting into the flavor notes, the first third has notes of white pepper, fire-cured leaves, and earth with pepper lingering on the tongue and through the retrohale.

In the second third the spice drops of a bit with the fire-cured leaves and earth still present, and an additional floral note present. Light BBQ baking spice note lingers.

The final third continues with the BBQ baking spice note and earth, but the floral note now comes through as licorice and lavender and even seems to knock the strength down a tick. Pepper builds back up a bit on the retrohale but doesn’t overpower.

Solid grey ash held on as long as I wanted and could easily hold on to the very end if you want to play that game.

In the end, this was a nice change of pace cigar. One many will like and others may not due to the notes present. But isn’t that the way of all cigars??

I gave the Quesada BBQ Pig a Final Third Cigar rating of 91.5. I enjoyed smoking it and am glad I got a couple to smoke in a few weeks again. Very unique and slow burner. This was an hour and 45 minute smoke for me!
