The Diesel Whiskey Row PX Sherry Cask is a Nicaraguan cigar made in the Tabacalera AJ Fernandez factory blended using a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, a Brazilian Aripiraca binder, and Nicaraguan Habano filler. This medium body cigar dons a solid triple cap perfect for the Colibri Deep V cut.
Construction is near perfect with a nice dark, oily wrapper and good texture. Solid triple cap.
Cold draw is a nice sweet dried fruit. Upon light, draw started out a little tighter than I like but loosened up about an inch in. Solid chunks of ash with a great burn line and nice smoke output.
Getting into the flavor notes, the first third has notes of wood, earth, sweet tobacco, dried fruit, with white pepper lingering on the tongue and black pepper on the retrohale.
Second third has a dried fruit note, almost cabernet wine quality, with earth and light spice, and a mint that is lightly present on the tongue. Black pepper remains on the retrohale.
The #FinalThird continues with the dark dried fruit notes, mint on the tongue, faint wood, earth, and light spice that lingers, Pepper on the retrohale, indicative of an AJ blend.
This cigar offers nice flavors and transitions and gives an overall nice smoking experience. A solid 90 minute smoke for me.
In the end I gave the Diesel Whiskey Row PX Sherry Cask a Final Third Cigar rating of 90. Great cigar, may be the best from the Whiskey Row lineup to date.
