Blackbird Cigar Co - Jackdaw
The Jackdaw is a mild to medium body cigar constructed with a Connecticut wrapper, Indonesian binder, with fillers consisting of Corojo 99, USA and Dominican tobaccos.
I am smoking the 5 X 50 Robusto and used the Colibri Deep V Cut on the solid triple cap.
I’ll preface this by saying I am not a huge Connecticut fan, it is not my typically go to stick. However, I do enjoy them with coffee sometimes in the morning...and that’s how I am smoking the Jackdaw today!
With the Corojo 99 added, this cigar has some complexity that many CT cigars do not offer. Good construction.
Cold draw was creamy tobacco.
First third had a creamy, roasted nut flavor with lingering hints of baking spices and citrus zest.
Second third flavors blend together nicely, a bit more creamy nut and less baking spice. A hint of citrus zest is still present but very faint.
#finalthird had notes of creamy tobacco, mild leather, with faint lingering baking spices on the palette.
Overall a nice CT with a bit of flavor complexity that kept me interested.
I have the Blackbird Cigar Jackdaw a Final Third Cigar rating of 88. Flavors were nice and burn line was sharp.
If you’re a Connecticut fan, this one will definitely be in your wheelhouse. A bit more strength than a typical CT but not at all overpowering!
